Write for us

We welcome pitches that make a specific part of sport easier to understand: a rule, tactical idea, format, equipment detail or sporting custom, explained for a curious general reader.

Pitch a clear question

Tell us what you want to explain, which sport or setting it concerns, and the main idea a reader should take away. A focused question is more useful than a broad promise to cover everything about a game.

Make it useful and grounded

Strong proposals use plain language, distinguish rules from common practice, and show why the detail matters when someone watches or learns about a sport. We favour evergreen subjects that do not depend on breaking news, unsupported claims or specialist advice.

Send a proposal

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option to send your pitch. Include a brief outline and any relevant experience or examples of your writing. A proposal is not a guarantee of publication, and we may ask for revisions or sources.
